Knowing The Terror Of The Lord

“So we are always confident,

knowing that while we are at home in the body

we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight.

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather,

to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 There aren’t too many people who would be “well pleased” to die. When I see the heroics people go through to prolong their lives, I’m frequently mindful of the saying “if heaven is such a wonderful place, why do people try so hard to avoid it?” Only someone who has been with the Lord and who has filled himself with his Word can have the mindset that eagerly looks forward to being with Christ in heaven.

Heaven is a very real place where very real people live. If you have a loved one who has gone there, be comforted in knowing that that person is NOT dead, but very much alive – living in a very wonderful place.

But just as heaven is very real, hell is too.

vs 11: “Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord,

we persuade men;”

vs 20:

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,

as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf,

be reconciled to God.”

I implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. Your eternity depends on it.

God is Sending Signs But Are We Seeing and Listening? Sun Blasts More Solar Winds at Earth

Bible Prophecy Commentary: Signs in the Sun, Moon and Stars –
Friends, God is clear about how He speaks and warns us. Listen…
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;.” -Luke 21:25 (KJV)
We are in the last days prior to His return and He is telling us to take notice of what He is telling us. If you claim to be a Christian and are not watching then you are not following His word for these prophetic days we are living in. It’s time to start watching and looking up.
“And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:” -Acts 2:19 (KJV)
Signs are happening all around us – especially in the sun and moon and the roaring of the waves (hurricanes, storms, tornadoes) are off the charts. Are you ready to hear him in the daily reading of your Bible and watching for the signs He paints in nature for us? Now’s the time! Yet we know
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh … Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” -Luke 21:28, 36 (KJV)

When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place… —Matthew 6:6

The primary thought in the area of religion is— keep your eyes on God, not on people. Your motivation should not be the desire to be known as a praying person. Find an inner room in which to pray where no one even knows you are praying, shut the door, and talk to God in secret. Have no motivation other than to know your Father in heaven. It is impossible to carry on your life as a disciple without definite times of secret prayer.
“When you pray, do not use vain repetitions…” (Matthew 6:7). God does not hear us because we pray earnestly— He hears us solely on the basis of redemption. God is never impressed by our earnestness. Prayer is not simply getting things from God— that is only the most elementary kind of prayer. Prayer is coming into perfect fellowship and oneness with God. If the Son of God has been formed in us through regeneration (see Galatians 4:19), then He will continue to press on beyond our common sense and will change our attitude about the things for which we pray.
“Everyone who asks receives…” (Matthew 7:8). We pray religious nonsense without even involving our will, and then we say that God did not answer— but in reality we have neverasked for anything. Jesus said, “…you will ask what you desire…” (John 15:7). Asking means that our will must be involved. Whenever Jesus talked about prayer, He spoke with wonderful childlike simplicity. Then we respond with our critical attitude, saying, “Yes, but even Jesus said that we must ask.” But remember that we have to ask things of God that are in keeping with the God whom Jesus Christ revealed.

ISRAEL is God’s witness to the nations Read ISAIAH 42:18-43:8

How sad. The nations Israel has to be a witness to, and the greater part of the “Christian church” do not believe what the Bible says about Israel. The theology of reformed churches world-wide is built on what was stolen from Israel. They have claimed everything which was promised to Israel in the Bible and Israel no longer exists. Friends, do we realize what was done here? God’s witness to the world was smothered and strangled. This is why they no longer have a witness today and no proof of the truth of the Bible.

Even Israel in their hopelessly deteriorated condition, before they started returning to their land 100 years ago, was a powerful witness for God and for the truth of the Word. Just read Isaiah 42:18-25. It was as a result of Israel’s unbelief when they rejected Jesus as God and Saviour, that our Lord scattered them across the world, made them blind and deaf to the truth. The tremendous plundering the nation suffered and is still suffering, will reach its climax in the coming tribulation. But, do you know, all of this is a witness to you and me. And it is not only the reformed; there are fundamental Bible groups who also believe there is no prophecy at the moment. It is only WE, WE, WE. Please, let us not see ourselves as so important! Isaiah 42:22 is a prophecy FOR THE PRESENT. This is what God is doing with His own nation, those who reject Jesus. Do you think you are better than Israel? Certainly not. Your destiny will be worse if Jesus is not the most important Person in your life. In Isaiah 42:23 our Lord is talking directly to you and me. Us, to whom Israel is a witness. Let us read the verse: “Who among you will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come?” These verses about God’s punishment of Israel in this dispensation, is FULFILLED IN FRONT OF OUR EYES. And then most Christians say in their foolishness: Forget about Israel, they don’t exist at the moment!

“Who gave Jacob for plunder, and Israel to the robbers?” (verse 24). Isn’t it the Lord? And if it is Him, then Israel is still a witness of God’s dealings with Israel and an urgent call to every person on earth. THE LORD IS ALIVE! He is doing things here on earth. The world isn’t just going its own way. There is a plan. The Lord is doing what He said He would! Therefore it is prophecy which is being fulfilled.

But how tragic. God’s fury and anger poured on Israel is not noticed by them (verse 25). And worse still, the nations and the Christians are not seeing this either. They are all haughtily bound up in their own lives and their own theology.

Do you want to live in victory before your Lord? Then look at what God is doing with Israel. God has never forgotten them, in spite of their terrible sin and unbelief (Isa. 43:1). If He has called you by your name, He will never forget you, either.

Are you searching for a witness of the truth of your Bible and the authenticity of your faith? God provided such a witness but unfortunately many churches have rejected that witness. What is happening today, in our time in Israel, is God’s witness and it is still, like always, sending a message to the world. Look at Israel! Read your Bible! If the Lord could take them through the fire and through the waters , through all the tribulations of the last 2000 years and still say in Isa. 43:1 “I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” What grace! What a wonder from God!

Christians’ and churches’ reckless pronouncements regarding Israel is an example of the UNBELIEF of the last days and people’s learned techniques to make the Bible say what they want to hear.

Israel’s Restoration Signals The End Of The Age

Israel’s Restoration Signals The End Of The Age

“…the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity,

and have compassion on you,

and gather you again from all the nations

where the Lord your God has scattered you.

If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven,

from there the Lord your God will gather you,

and from there he will bring you.”

Deuteronomy 30:3-4

The Jewish people were taken from their land twice. The first time they were conquered by Babylon and brought there in captivity. God had sent them many prophets who pleaded with them to stop rebelling against their God, but they came under the influence of the traditions and observances of the nations around them, and they slipped into increasing sin and rebellion until they came to the point of no return, and the Lord caused them to be taken captive and the city of Jerusalem destroyed.

They remained in Babylon for 70 years, as the Lord had foretold in his Word. At the end of the 70 years, they returned to Israel, to the land of their fathers, rebuilt Jerusalem, and were once again blessed.

The second time they came under the judgment of God they were not taken to a conquering country, but they were scattered across the earth, to every country and to every nation, and there they stayed -not 70 years this time, but they remained scattered for 2,000 years. This second judgment of God came upon them in 70 AD. The Temple was destroyed, Jerusalem was destroyed, and they were dispersed throughout the world. For the 2,000 years that they were gone, the rains stopped in Israel and the land languished. The author Samuel Clemons visited Israel and later he described it:

“…a silent mournful expanse… a desolation…

We never saw a human being on the whole route…

hardly a tree or shrub anywhere.

Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil,

had almost deserted the country.”

But just as the Lord had foretold these captivities, he also foretold the end of the judgments. When the appointed time came, God called the Jewish people back to the land of their fathers. And they have returned from every country on earth. Today Israel is a thriving country, far more developed and prosperous than the countries around her which have been there all this time. Israel has developed and prospered more in these 69 years than the nations around her have in thousands of years. The nation of Israel is a statement from God. He does the impossible. When they started returning, the south was just desert and the north was malaria-infested swamp-lands. Today the land has blossomed and the earth has become so rich that they export tulips to Holland!

But the Lord has stated that they would be restored in two steps, the first being their physical return, and the second their spiritual restoration. For the most part, the Jews in Israel today are secular. It’s quite odd to see it because you’d think that after their history they’d be on their knees worshiping God. Some do, but for the most part they are secular. The Lord is not about to let anyone share his glory in this undertaking. Their eyes are still blind and no one can take credit for the work of restoration that God himself has done. I remember hearing prime minister Rabin speak at a religious gathering, and he extolled the greatness of the Israeli armed forces. In all his boasting, he never once mentioned God -and I was appalled. Only then did I realize the spiritual emptiness of Israel at this point. And this has been the case with many of the great men in Israel, because God has made it obvious that it is HE who is doing this work of restoration, and he alone, and it’s not because of their goodness, but in honor of the covenant he made with their fathers.

Before the spiritual restoration comes, Israel has yet to go through a terrible time during which they will be brought low, and in their pain they will cry out to God and the Messiah will finally come and finish the work. There will be no question who has performed this great restoration. They will be humbled, and brought to repentance through many tears.

When they realize who the Messiah is, they will be shocked.

“And one shall say unto him, “What are these wounds in your hands?’”

Zechariah 13:6

Imagine their astonishment when they realize that the Messiah is the One who came to them 2,000 years ago, the One they rejected. They will be so astounded that they will go into deep mourning for having rejected him.

“…then they will look on me whom they pierced.

Yes, they will mourn for him as one mourns for his only son,

and grieve for him as one grieves for a firstborn.

In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem…”

Zechariah 12:10-11

If ever I doubted my faith, the story of Israel alone would restore it because it is a miracle story from beginning to end. God foretold all of the above, and it has come to pass exactly as he has said. During the 2,000 year dispersion, the Jewish people were not assimilated into the countries where they were. They have remained a set-apart people all this time, and they have been returning to the land of their fathers exactly as foretold. The language of Israel today is once again Hebrew, their language which was lost to them in their dispersion. How amazing is that! French Jews now speaking Hebrew, Greek Jews now speaking Hebrew, Iraqi Jews now speaking Hebrew! One can only observe it with awe.

As we look at what’s taking place in the world today, we surely can see that all is ready for the final act. We have witnessed the convergence of all the prophesies coming together. We have seen the blood moons all on Biblical feast days, the solar eclipses, CERN which is setting up horrors unimaginable, and the looming Great Tribulation, through which the Jews will be humbled; and the world will come into the most terrible time that it has ever known. It is now ready. We see it with mouths agape and wonder as what was prophesied so long ago is about to begin. As Jesus foretold:

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, (eclipse)

And the moon into blood, (blood moon)

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.”

Joel 2:31

“For then there will be great tribulation,

such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time,

no, nor ever shall be.”

Matthew 24:21

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars,

and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity,

the sea and the waves roaring,

men’s hearts failing them from fear

and the anticipation of those things which are coming on the earth…”

Luke 21:25-26

If you have not been born again, seek the Lord now while there is yet time. Don’t put it off and think you’ll do it later, there might not be another time. Don’t be fooled by religion. If you’re religious, that won’t save you. You MUST be born again, and the only way that will happen is when you bow yourself before the L

Words to Ponder

Words to Ponder

Faith is not something that goes against scientific evidence, it goes beyond it. Faith is not measured by how much of it we have but by how much of it we use. Faith is a supernatural currency that we can spend in time … that will impact time and eternity. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Get some and spend some … all of your days.
